Dragons breath shells
Is that company that produced all that unusual ammo still around. I haven't seen it at any gun shows in awhile.
I read it is a felony to posses it in florida. Must be because it is so much more deadly than 00 buck.

I saw them at a gunshow recently, 20 bucks for 3! I always wanted some but somehow, 180 rounds for my sks sounded like a better deal.
It is funny though, on the package it says it is used as a distraction in S.W.A.T. operations and used for deforestation!

What's so special about them? I mean, what do they do?

they are loaded with some type on powder stuff that shoots out a fireball that goes about 100 yards i guess. the flame last like 1 second or so. basically just really cool although it would probably scare the hell out of the bad guy.

I always thought it was a magnesium/white phosphorus type powder mixture. Can't imagine that NOT doing bad things to the barrel, but they say they're safe.
Still want to get some 12 ga bird bombs for "agricultural use only." |

Kind of on the subject, is it safe to shoot those 12 gauge flare shells, made for a flare gun, out of you're shotgun? I alway's thought it would be cool, especialy on the 4th of July.

they say the dragons breath shells are safe for the gun, but the magnesium powder is dangerous. be careful if you shoot them as you will likely ignite whatever you hit as magnesium burns at over 5000 degrees F. I have also heard that the wind can be a major factor in where the fireball goes, so more caution on that aspect.

I've seen a photo of the dragons breath - awesome! I heard of a case of where it was used [by mistake] to fire at BGs breaking into a house .Scared the BGs but curtains were gone and paint needed !!....Bird bomb ? If it's the same as I used to scare deer it goes out to about 75 yds then goes off like a very large firecracker.

Crosshair, if it's not made specifically for use in a shotgun, don't try it. Guy in my hunt club purchased some of those marine flare rounds meant for the plastic pistol. He tried one in his shotgun and it stuck in the barrel. Great way to ruin a barrel - it burned in the barrel.

Check your local laws before ordering. It is illegal in Florida and several other states.
