Remington R3 recoil pad with Protector folding stock?

Does anyone know if the R3 Recoil pad from Remington, will work with the Protector folding Stock from Butler Creek.

I have noticed that Remington did, or does sell a Special run of the 870 with the Protector Stock, but don't know if it will accept the R3 recoilpad or not. Anyone who has any idea on this?
