I voted Beretta because I generally don't recommend Glocks, personally I'd go with a Kahr Arms firearm if wanting a concealable 9mm. Personally I carry a .45 1911.

+1 for Beretta

I love Berettas, they put out some great guns. I have been turned away from Glock mainly because of the way it fits in my hand (the fanbois didn't do anything to help my opinion).

Both are great guns - hard to go wrong here. Personally, I like the G26, especially with the plethora of accesories available.

Definitely not my experience. Buying and shooting a Glock 17 cured my very brief Glock sickness very quickly.
If that's the only Glock you've fired, that isn't saying much. Get your hands on a Glock 19. If that doesn't hook you, then Glocks definitely aren't for you.

I've shot plenty of Glocks (rentals and those belonging to other people) over the years, including the G19. I guess I just didn't quite realize how much they bored me until I owned one. They're still great guns, though.

I should have purchased a G20 instead. Surely I could find a 10mm Glock entertaining. I don't sell or trade my guns, but maybe I should consider making that switch.

i was just comparing the two in the store. I do like glocks, but i have never been very accurate with them (in .45 and 10mm), so I went with the px4 storm.

love how the beretta it feels in my hand - very solid pistol for a polymer frame. Will pick up after my 3 day wait!

The Glock 26 is the most size efficient and reliable pistol made today. Can you name another sub-compact that can use 10 round, 15 round, 17 round or 33 round magazines? The Glock 26 is also incredibly accurate.

There is no reason to use a pinky extension for the G26. I used to use those Pearce grip extensions but once I ditched those I noticed no difference in performance. Like Hickock45 says in his YouTube video that little pinky finger adds nothing to the equation. Its more of a perception thing. The G26 has been around for around 10 years and has proven itself as worthy as the other 9mm Glocks. One thing those grip extensions are good for is mag changes. Easier to grab from the mag pouch on your belt.

The Beretta PX4 Compact I dont' know too much about. I'd consider a M&P/C 9mm or H&K P2000SK if Glock was not in the running for whatever reason.

I am not a fan of injection molded pistols, but I'll take a Beretta over a Block any day.

Get the G27 - Its identical to the G26 but shoots the more potent 40S&W.

The 27 can also switch to 9mm using a 9mm barrel and magazine for cheaper practice and/or flexiblity - the swap takes 10 seconds.

i voted for the beretta (cause i just bought a full size 9mm)

however, subcompact as one other person mentioned is not the rotating barrel.
don't know if that will affect your decision, but the glock has a regular tilt up type anyway. you just don't get that engineering twist with the sub.

Both are short and stubby.

It all boils down to personal preference (as always). Which one makes you grin when you put it in your hand and shoot it?

Each have it's pros and cons. I'm not a fan of the wide slide mounted safeties on the Beretta. The bruniton finish on the storm can have issues out of the factory. And finally I wish both mags on the CX4 came with the finger extension. I really don't care that it doesn't have a rotating barrel on it. What compact pistol does? But I prefer the stock 12 round mag capacity (do I really need a 33 round mag for my compact pistol?) and I like the versatility and safety features of the DA/SA storm. And frankly, I prefer the trigger on the gun. Ultimately, it performs better for me in my hand than does the Glock. So my choice between the two goes to Storm.

I've looked at the glock 27 and i came upon the 26 because it is mostly going to be a target pistol and 9mm is cheaper. how much do the conversion kits run?

About $110 for the barrel plus a 9mm magazine or two.

oh, the big thing for me was i wanted the safety - full size px4 not compact. Glock does not although my Dad said it can be added, but that is not the point.

the glock is set up for what it is, but in my house with small children i just wanted a safety switch.

So I dont want to sound all self-righteous about it... But your thinking about the kids thing all wrong.
A safety can not be relied on - and shouldnt even be considered - to save your kids from parental irresponsibility.

Get a gun safe.

I picked the 26 since I own one and am not a big fan of the PX4. I would take the Beretta Cougar which I do own over the PX4.
One that I would suggest you look at is the S&W MP9C. The fact that it’s offered with and without a magazine disconnect and manual safety makes it an interesting gun to me.
I really like my G26, it’s not a perfect gun out of the box as a lot of people seem to think but with some simple mods can be a very good gun. And that’s why it's the gun I carry the most.
But the MP9C is calling me

Dashunde I disagree about the safety. It’s the one thing I don’t like about Glocks. I won’t argue that the gun doesn’t actually need it. But I think that Glock is making a big mistake not offering one. I am an old fart that carried and still carries 1911 with one in the chamber hammer back and safety on. It’s because of the safety that I am comfortable carrying it that way.
I admit it’s more of a mental thing than mechanical trust of a design but I would own a herd of Glocks if they offered them with manual safeties.
There are a lot of people that feel the same way and I just think that it’s a mistake not to offer one and why I think the MP9C is a great idea since you can get it both ways.

I'm a huge beretta fan and my 92 is my favorite range gun but the PX is a really chunky gun, I'd have to vote for the Glock.

BTW my edc is a walther PPS in .40
