Had a customer put a mag in backwards in a Ruger mk3 22 and what an ordeal. I had to make a very special tool and it was still a bear. Ruger has a gig going on here that is about $60 for the removal of the mag according to the customer. A good heads up is to stay away from the mk3. Ruger has it fixed so that very little work can be done without the mag in the right direction much less the wrong way. They have created a safety hazard for no reason with the mag issue. I can understand someone accidentally putting a mag in the wrong way in the dark or just by not paying attention but this design flaw is beyond comprehension. I cant wait until one of the home gunsmiths accidentally get shot working on one of these mk3s putting a hot mag in the pistol forgetting it has a round in it as this is an accident waiting to happen. The on line tool isn't much help also. Need to post this on PS and sniper hide and all forms you visit. I don't like to kick a product line but this a poor design. MSH |
