Which full size non-1911 .45 acp?!

I have a weird obsession with the .45 caliber and I already have a sti Spartan so my 1911 fix is done. I will eventually own almost all of these to be mentioned pistols but would like the first few to be the more sought after. I spend most of my time at the range so that's what their primary purpose will be. I already have an xds 3.3 so no more ccw's. Here is the list as I see them in order of want, although I've never shot most of them.

1) xdm 5.25
2) glock 41
3) hk 45 tactical
4) sig p220 (any variant)
5) sig p227 tactical
6) m&p 4.5
7) xdm 4.5
8) glock 21
9) cz 97 bd
10) fnx 45 tactical
11) usp 45 tactical
12) mark 23
13) beretta px4 storm special duty
14) ruger sr45
15) eaa witness elite match

Would your list be in a different order? Are there any full size non-1911's that I have not mentioned that are worth looking at? How about it boys and girls!!

* All of these will be strictly range toys/bedside pieces.

1. Xdm 5.25.
2. Sig P220 (without the rail, maybe all stainless).
===========
My only .45 is a 1911.
... but thinking of trading my 9mm Walther P99 for something else in .45 ... maybe an Xdm compact for CC or 5.25 competition or double stack RIA 2011 for range.

My current want list:
1. RIA 2011 double stack.
2. Xdm Compact.
3. Xdm 5.25 Competition.
4. Sig Sauer 1911 Nightmare Traditional Commander.
5. Glock 26

How is that RIA? I don't believe I've ever heard of them before. I'll have to check that one out in .45!

*now I feel stupid! Didn't know it was abbreviations for rock island

I just picked up a Ruger SR45, haven't had to the range yet but I like the trigger and how it feels in my hand.

Quite a list you have.
I have fired the XD's & M&P's. Not a fan, sorry.
Sigs & HK's are great firearms but if I'm going to spend that much money for a handgun, it's gonna be for a similarly priced 1911.
I do own a G21 & it's been pretty much flawless & it serves as my HD gun.
But all my EDC's are 1911's.

If it's going to be a range gun, I would say the HK, they seem to be one of the most accurate non 1911's out there.

Sigs are really something to look at! And them hks make a name for themselves also. I didn't know a whole lot about the ruger so thanks for info! Good to know it has decent ergonomics. And yes, 1911s are great platforms for many purposes!

Your 1911 itch must not have been very strong, if a Spartan scratched it?
I'd rethink the 1911, then at some future date go after the dimmer stars in the galaxy.

What about a SAR K2. I love mine and it has been more accurate than the M&P 45 I used to have. It also holds 15rnds of 45 acp.

I bought a Glock 34 for pretty much a range gun and I'm already looking at getting a Glock 41. I love the feel of the Glock 41 grip and I'm familiar with the platform.

My advice is worth what you pay for it. Nothing Ha Ha . I have little experience with most guns and have only owned 2 chambered in .45. Remington R1 and Glock 30SF. The Remington shot well but did not feel right in my hand. And the Glock I bought on a whim took it to the range and immediately started to look for a holster. If I can ever get the money up I myself would go for the Glock 21.

In the past I've owned Glock 21,XD, S&W M&P, Ruger P345, P90, and P97, H&K, FNX, S&W 4506, and a bunch of 1911's. Other than two 1911's the only 45 left is a G-21. I could like another 4506 if one came along at a good price, but don't miss the others at all.

Love the XDM 5.25, but for my money and use, I'll take the XD45 Tactical with thumb safety. I shoot it very well. It holds 13+1. It has good sights. Also it has 1911 ergos more or less with the TS.

BTW, you need more 1911's!

All my non-1911 .45's say Glock on them.

All the other ones have long been sold.

...

Though I might like to try out a CZ 97 some day.
