Scope for .454 Casull

I have to re-scope my Encore .454 Casull pistol (12"). Attempted to use a 5 year old Weaver 4x scope. 5 rounds later, adjustments don't work, and will not hold zero. Too much recoil???
Anyway, can anyone tell me what scope will hold up to full power loads from this gun?
Thank you

Yeah, a .454 Casull will tear up a low buck scope. Take a look at the Leupold FXII "handgun" scopes. They MSRP for $439, but you can usually find them for $100 less at places like opticsplanet. Burris makes a "Posi-Lock" variable handgun scope for about the same price... either scope will hold up to a big boomer quite nicely.

You won't get the magnification but my Burris Fastfire III is rated for 1000 G's of recoil. I like it a lot and would have no doubt that it would stand the recoil. Its very light, low profile, waterproof, and seems like high quality optic.

I haven't used any handgun scopes with magnification so I don't have much to suggest.

I was happy with the Leopuld M8 2X.
