Winchester Super X Sabot Slugs?
Anyone here using these for hunting?
These were the most economical priced slugs I could find at my local store. $825 for a box of 5, 2 3/4" BRI Sabot Slugs. I picked up two boxes to shoot at the range for a mini test, but I'd also like to hear of anyone who also uses these. 1350 FPS...not very fast for a 1 oz slug, but it should do the job at 100 yards or less. My father has been using them for several years and loves them. I am going to be using them this year also. We however use the 3" varaity. I sure hope you ment $8.25 not $825 LOL.

Ahh..yes. What a difference a decimal point makes!
I'll try these and hopefully she will like them. 100 yards is the MAX shot I'll be taking this year. Most of them will be much less than that in the planted pines and mixed hardwoods of Tyndall AFB. Good SHooting Red |

I use the Winchester SSP-12 Supreme Partition Gold jacketed HP sabot slug.
2-3/4", 385 gr, 1900 fps, 3100# energy at 3', at 100yds, 1550 fps and 2200# energy. Shoots fairly flat out to 100-125 yds. they also offer a 400 gr. sabot slug. Check their website (and others) for ballistics. |

Thanks for the info. I may try them in the future.
I did test shoot them and they shot very well, although they had a bit more recoil than I expected. Good Shooting Red |
