Conicals for Colorado Elk

Don't know if this question is better here or one of the other forums, so feel free to move it.

I drew my MZ tag for elk in CO this year and need some suggestions. CO is pretty strict (Open sights, No pellets, no sabots, and max length of projectile = 2x the diameter). I'll be shooting a 50 cal so that means max length of 1.000".
I don't cast my own bullets so I'm just looking at commercially available stuff.
I want to make the most of this chance so I plan to try a few different options to see what loads/bullets my gun likes best.
I've been doing a little research and it looks like the new Hornady FPB over Triple se7en might be a good starting point...anyone have any experience with this combo?
Any other suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Bob
