Will Dillon re-furbish my press?

Has anybody sent their Dillon press in for re-furbishing. I have an old 550 that I traded a rifle scope for and would like Dillon to go thru it. How is their customer service and were you happy with your results?

There are several posts (recent) of folks who got a 550 at an estate sale, tossed in a corner and ignored for years, and they sent it back and Dillon rebuilt it.

In one case, Dillon replaced the powder measure tubes. They weren't broken, just discolored.

Yes, Dillon will rebuild it. And it will be as good as new. And I'll be surprised if you have to pay anything other than shipping to send it in...

Yes, Dillon will rebuild your press. I believe the overhaul price is about $50. It's not free. But, that is a flat rate. I had my ancient SDB rebuilt and Dillon installed far more than $50 in new parts. It looked like NEW.

Great customer service. And I like the fact that the warranty goes with the press and is not just for the original purchaser.

A Fireman in San Antonio found a Dillon Press in the remains of a burned garage. He sent it to Dillon and they replaced it. It was no charge if I understood right.

I have had two SDs for over 25 years, both have been back a time or two. They went through them and even updated them to SDB specs, for free. They even picked up the shipping back to me.

I sent in a SDB and a 550 last year for refurbishing. If you call them, they can tell you what the cost is. If I remember correctly, the 550 was in the $40-$50 range, which included return shipping to me. Both mine came back like new with some upgrades that cost me nothing. What impressed me even more was I got a call when they got there, one when they explained what they were going to do to each machine, and one letting me know they were done and on their way back to me.

A friend sent in an old worn out press, a very old press. He purchased new. He thinks its 20-something years old. They rebuilt it free.

I purchased a 550b a couple of years ago. In dealing with Dillon, I found them way beyond fair. Excellent customer service.

A friend sent in two for refurbishing. I think they completely replaced one of them. Don't know if it cost him anything. He was extremely happy with their service.

Their calendars are nice too! I have several that I got signed at SHOT.
