I'm new to BP revolvers. This is the order I went so far:
1. ROA 7 1/2" SS adjustable sights 2. ROA 7 1/2" SS fixed sights 3. Uberti 8" 1858 Next purchase will probably be a Uberti Colt style. Either an 1851 Navy or a 1862 Pocket Police. Base on the question from the OP it looks like the 1858 would get the nod first from me. |

I guess my quesetion is why do want to get another one of the two? Do you want a matching set for CAS? If so get the one that you can shoot better with the off hand. If you are just looking for a third gun, think outside your confort zone. Dragoons/Walkers are a pleasant change in pace. The Ruger Old Army is a different beast that can be loads of fun. If you are up for small challenge there are the pocket pistols from both colt and remmie... That's the reason. i wouldn't mind getting one of everything but for CAS shooting a matched pair would be more preferable. |

Cripes, Hawg, you seem to be taking that much better than I would.
I've been looking at an 1860 Colt (2nd gen) with a fluted barrel on gun broker. I...must...not...bid on...revolver |

Sorry to hear about that. If I had a son-in-law do that to me...I would drag him out to the woods and give him a beating of his life. May not work, but will make me feel a little better. Also, make him work to pay back those guns.

Him WORK? That's what started the whole sorry mess. My MIL let them move in with her until they could get a place of their own. A week later he quit his job, started staying up all night and sleeping all day and not trying to find a job. I found him two and he'd take neither one. After four months I convinced my MIL to throw the bum out on his aspirin bottle and her(my daughter) with him if that's what it took. She did, he's gone, daughter is still there and hasn't heard from him in over a week. |
