Brian Enos questions

So I'm setting up to reload for 300 blackout, and I want to buy a Dillon 1050 in 300 blackout.

I read somewhere that Brian Enos has a 5% discount and free shipping compared to Dillon, which never discounts.

I don't see a discount anywhere on his website or a coupon code.

How do I get this discount?

Also, if I need repairs on the 1050, do I send it back to Dillon or to Brian? He doesn't answer his phone.

I'm thinking I'll just order through Dillon, like I did with my other 1050s. Is there a reason to order through Brian?

No, he doesn't answer his phone, because he is a one man company, but he will return a PM right away from the forums. You have to register with BrianEnos.com. Everyone who shoots competition buys from Benos because he does offer a discount and knows his way around competition and reloading. If you already own a 1050 it needs to go back to Dillon.

I have not discounted Dillon equipment since 2004.

I'm flat out 6 - 7 days a week with Dillon Precision onlines sales and email support. I can type really fast... I've send up to 100+ emails a day, in that same time I could field maybe 10 - 15 phone calls, at best.

I've replied to every email I've ever received every business day for 15 years:

Dillon does not let any dealer give discounts. MRSP is the only price. Brian and others may add things to the deal that are LIKE a discount, but Dillon would frown on a real discount.
At least if you buy from Enos, you have HIM and Dillon to help you.
Get the Dillon DVD and carefully watch what the technician/narrator DOES, without even thinking about it.

I've only ever reloaded on Dillon reloaders, so I'm very familiar with them.

I was looking for a deal of some sort. Looks like none to be had.

On a side note, before I went to graduate school in the late 90s, I had a 1050 that I sold because I couldn't take it with me to school. About 10 years later, I got back into reloading and bought my current reloading set up, which is comprised of mostly of Dillon stuff. I swear that the current 1050s are different from the 1050s that I remember from the mid to late 90s. I can't put my finger on the difference.

That's because they are two slightly different presses. The older RL1050 and the newer Super1050. The main difference is that the Super can handle long action rifle cases where the RL can't, the Super has a longer stroke.

I bought my last press through Brian. Only way to go. He was there to answer all my questions and make sure I got the right press for my needs, a 650 with the case feeder.

Delivery was excellent. My case feeder had to be backordered. It got here the next day. LOL.

Yeah, just kidding. Look closer. It's only your brain that's on phone vacation. That's why the wishing works!

I had a mail order business decades ago, and understand it's hard to keep up. 100 emails a day can be a molehill or a mountain, depending on technical detail content level. Just be thankful it isn't snail mail, like it was in my time.

(On the other hand, that's what family members are meant to be exploited for!

WELSHM, you shoot over 80,000 rounds a year, on average? That's what those guys were doing back in the day, and Robbie still is, so you have to look at a lifetime total. I'm at about 600,000 since 1967, but I bet Robbie and Benos are well over 4 Million...

I spent yesterday evening perusing through Brian's web page. Very nice. I picked up a 650 from a storage unit yesterday. Set-up for 9mm, I'm going to keep it until the owner gets his house built and figures out where he wants it. He works like a dog, I'm hoping he decides he wants it in my basement

. If the IRS had not gutted me like a fish I would already have the case feeder on order from Brian. Large primer stuff will stay on my 550 but I hope to have every piece of small primer brass in the house loaded by fall.
