Dillon 550B Powder Measures - Alternatives?

Was wondering if anyone has installed benchrest type powder measures on their Dillon 550B or if anyone knew of any way to install one. Do any of the BR powder measure manufacturers make product for the Dillons ?

The Dillon powder measure is about the best you are going to find.I used it to throw match 308.I measured about the first 100 and was within a tenth at all times.Why mess with something that good?

I have to second that question. I've always been very pleased with the accuracy of my 550B measure, never saw the need to kludge something else onto the press.

Ditto on previous remarks !! WHY, would be my question. Have Dillon 550 set up for 308 and 45 and both powder measures drop powder great. In fact one is so old it still uses springs where as the new(using for 45 ACP)doesn't and both are extremely accurate ! Initially I set drop with an electronic scale and after 10-20 loads just knock it on out !

IIRC, I believe Redding has or someone makes an adaptor to use their BR powder measure on the Dillons. For 95% of most loading, the Dillon works just fine.

I have 15 Dillon heads complete and ready to mount; none have been erratic (even with WAP!).

Dillon measures, as do most others, work better with ball type powders than with stick type, or the course flake powders.

Seems to me that the Dillon measure holds charges close enough for most shooting, though with any mechanical measure, I would be careful around maximun loads.

I would imagine that any case actuated powder throw will work, but the question remains...why?
