Can i use IMR 4320 in my 270 Winchester loads?
Hi,
I've got a fair bit of 4320 and I want to use it in my 270 under a sierra 130 gr gameking. The only place that I've found data using this powder is on the hodgon website none of the 5 or so manuals I've got list it. So I just wanted to see if anyone else has used IMR4320 in their 270? If you have could you list the load if you want to. As i said it's for a 130gr projectile.

I use imr 4320 in my savage 110 270 hand loads.
My rifle likes 47 gr of imr 4320 under 130 grain nosler ct ballistic tip with federal casings and cci 200 primer. This load shoots 3/4 inch groups @ 200 yards. I was using this load with fed 210 lr primer but they have lot better group with cci 200 This load came from nosler manual and 47 is max load. Using the nosler spitzer 130 gr over 43 gr of imr 4320 with fed 210 lr primer fed casings it will shoot 1 1/4 groups @ 200 yards. Hope this info may help someone browsing through |
