870 magnum
Hello. I am new to this forum. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any difference between the thickness of a Remington 870 Police Magnum, and a regular Remington 870.
The reason I'm asking is because I installed a side saddle which required me to remove the trigger pins on my 870 Police Magnum and I have since misplaced those pins. Now I want to buy new pins but can only find ones labled as "Remington 870", and non labeled as especially for an 870 Police Magnum. I just want to make sure that the receivers are the same thickness before I order the pins. |

Do some more research on this as my experience is that the Remington listing of magnum is for 3" shotshell and the regular one is for the 2-3/4" shotshell. I knw that the older Remingtons are labeled that way. ……. Be Safe !!!

Called Remington
Well I did decide to do some more research, so I called Remington's Customer Service number today. The representative says that the receivers on all 12 gauge 870 shotguns are the exact same dimensions. So I ordered some pins and will update this thread when I receive them so that the info might help the next guy looking for the answer to this type of question.
Thanks everyone for responding. |

The part numbers are the same for standards and Magnums since the 1950s.

Got the pins
Today I received the pins from Midway USA and they fit in my Remington 870 Police Magnum just fine even though they were labeled as pins for a plain ole Remington 870. So I guess the answer to the question I asked at the beginning of this thread is;
Yes the Remington 870 receivers are all the same thickness. Express/Wingmaster/Magnum/Police Magnum. All the same. |

They will fit 1100s and 11-87s as well. A lot of guns descended from the Remington 11-48.
