I'm concerned about another part there.
What are the details of the five year limit for felonies and class A misdemeanors? I was convicted of a class A misdemeanor in dec. 2008. Does that mean I can't own firearms untill dec. 2013? I've legally restored all rights to own firearms in feb. 2012 |

We discussed this in the original thread about the new NY laws. The short of it is this:
-These limits were already in the NY laws. They haven't been changed in any way. -"Firearm" basically means handgun. -There are exemptions for licensed handguns. So, basically, it is nothing more than a tack-on charge for someone possessing handgun(s) without a license. 3+ gets you third degree. 10+ gets you first degree. |
