Sw mp ar 15 22

Hey all. Been saying for years the AR bug has never hit me, Well times are a changing. I just picked up the SW M&P 15 22. First time to the range Yesterday.
Mounted a Nikon BDC 3x9 and sighted in. I love my 10/22's but this AR thing has definetly bit me now. I can't remember having so much fun with a 22 before.
I put around 1000 rounds down it with out a hick up or a one issue. Accuracy from a free hand ( which i am horrable at) was less than 1 inch at 50 yards.
So now for those out there that have these,,Would a 223 be as much fun also?.

I have both the smith and wesson mp 15 and the mp 15-22 and I have to say that i like the .22 better. Mostly for the sole reason that I can shoot 500 rounds for the same price as 50 out of the other. The .223 is only more fun if you have a lot of ammo and you are looking to shoot 150 yds or more. Unless you plan on doing varmint hunting of course. 8 out of 10 times I go to the range anymore I take the .22. The .223 is nice but you will find yourself constantly dropping money for accessories or ammo. I say if your only purpose is target just stick with the .22 version

Hard to say which one you would like the most. I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 and a M&P 15-22. I enjoy them both and they both fill a purpose that has little overlap, in my opinion. I enjoy shooting both of them. Personally, I like the one with a little more recoil, but a person can't argue with the cost associated with the .22LR version either.

Good luck!
