Travel From Illinois To TX?

Hey Guys, I'm having to go to IL to pick up a vintage vehicle we purchased and come back with the shipping co storage van.

I'm not doing any driving but they need a rep from our company with the vehicle since it's considered a luxury item.
Anything I need to know/do to keep my firearm in the car with me?

I read different things on the internet like I would have to keep it locked in a carry box or disassembled and out of reach.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Cynthia
