Looking at AN/PVS-2

Can anyone out there start me on the learning path for the AN/PVS-2. I may buy one (its cheap), but I don't know much about it. Teach me!

U.S. military issue in the 1970s, we also furnished some to Israel, and some of those IDF units came back here on the civilian market.

First generation technology - it had three Gen I tubes cascaded one-behind-the-other to provide decent light gain. Batteries might be a problem, unless the scope has been modified to accept commercial batteries.

You didn't state what the price was, but you should consider that Gen I tubes only last about 1000 hours, and there's no telling how many hours the scope has on it already.
