Local Article

Figured I would post this up here just as a reminder for the new fellows who are getting into guns. Especially those new guys with CCW's. This is about a guy who came into the peoples republic of NJ with a loaded handgun (hollow points which are illegal by themselves) and was encountered by a local officer. (Clinton twp officers have a history of being on the anal side about minor minor misdemeanors so ignore comments like that if they end up posted).

Know the laws outside your state if you want to bring your firearm along for the trip!

Not driving on a suspended license might have also been a good idea...

It's almost an embarassment some days to have California, New Jersey, Massachusetts and some of the other anti-gun, socialist nanny states as part of the 50 not-so-United States.

Of course, there are good and bad everywhere, and I am not generalizing about the INDIVIDUALS that make up the state, just the in-power politicians and the state governments. Of course, since elections are held, the people in tota are bottom-line responsible.

In a democratic republic with free and fair elections, people get the government they deserve. That's what made America great - and that's what's destroying America.

Also, I am not condoning this man's illegal behavior, or his ignorance of the law. But New Jersey and other locales that have highly restrictive gun laws are penalizing the law-abiding citizens, and making it easier for criminals at the same time.

Just confirms the notion that I have had for a long while: Avoid NJ.

I sympathize with the guy, but he and he alone is responsible for his predicament. KNOW THE LAWS OF THE STATE(S) YOU ARE IN!!
