light load warning?

I have been told to watch light loads when loading 454 Casull. Not to go under 29 gr of Win 296.How low can you go?At 29 gr I still get a big boom!At that grain all the powder is burnt and I can't see a bullet getting stuck in the barrel.
thanks
Edi

The starting load in your loading manual is about as low as you want to go......

Win296 has a reputation for unreliable ignition and resulting erratic velocities at reduced loads.
Other than that, it's an ideal powder for 454.

Other powders are not as sensitive. I've been able to down-load Accurate #9 in 44Mag, no problems.
If you want mild loads in 454, use Trail Boss.
Or, use 45 Colt ammo.
