Newbie and Savage ML.......

I purchased the Savage ML in 50 cal. I have no experience with muzzleloaders or reloading. I want to use smokeless powder. I will use the rifle primarily for deer hunting. What loads have you found to be effective in this rifle? Thanks, Brad.

Do some research on blowups with Savage ML using what they consider safe charges of smokeless powder. Savage tried to give Toby Bridges a black eye after he scattered a Savage ML. Since then others have documented catastrophic failures. I just ran across pictures and info, possibly in Graybeard. The design of the breech plug is highly suspect since they have completely altered the original design. Do some hunting in the internet before you get hurt.
