Carry in VA
I am an NC resident with NC CCW. Can I carry in VA? I know there were some changes with the VA laws this year which is why I am asking. I check 1-2 sites and they gave me conflicting answers.

Your best bet it to check with VA state police or whatever agency administers VA pistol laws. Internet advice on legal matters is usually not reliable.

Yes VA accepts NC permits...
http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms_Reciprocity.shtm As a side note the law will change on July 1st, after that VA will accept ALL states permits. |

I am from NC also. Virginia does not honor our permit as of this year. They have in the past but the Virginia Attorney General changed the states this year that they reciprocate with.
Edit: After reading one of the links, I may stand corrected. |

While the issue of concealed carry for non-residents may be up in the air right now remember that Virginia is an open carry state. I do hope that we get this concealed carry issue corrected very shortly. I do know that there is a correction in the works but the effective date escapes me at this time. Enjoy your visit. Also Virginia has a non-resident permit but you may not be able to get it before your trip.
