230 gr plated bullets for a .45 colt? (and pressure)

2 questions:

(1) Any of you guys used plated bullets in "non modern" .45s? Like a SAA or one of the new imports?

(2) I have some of these and not sure about shooting them in my cimarron .45 model P.
230gr copper plated RN
Starline case
winchester LP
8grs of 231

(As a side note, I did not load these. They were loaded by a good friend who is a VERY experienced reloader as target loads for his tarus. I've had them sitting here for a while)

Winchester has a "max" of 7.3gr but that with a cast LRNFP. resulting in 941fps and 13,700cup. is 8grs under a plated bullet too much for a non Ruger/freedom pistol?
