Harris bipod on DPMS

I just got my first black rifle here a month ago, a DPMS LR-308. It came with the Aluminum vented OEM floating handguard and I am getting ready to order a Harris bipod. My question is will the bipod attach to the factory sling stud in the handguard or do I need to also order an adapter? Thanks in advance!

Yes it will attach with no further modifications.

Just a little FYI you will want bi pod that swivels left to right, it is much better than the ones that, don't especially when you're shooting on unlevel ground.

Swivel is meh. Doesnt do anything you cant do simply by adjusting the legs and tightening them down with the lock knobs.

Why have to take the time to adjust the legs when you can simply turn the gun left or right, you must have never used one.

I agree with PP there. Adjusting the legs on my Harris bipod, while not difficult, is a PIA. Loosen the thumbscrew, pull down the leg against spring tension, re-set the thumbscrew. About the time you get the leg the right lenghth, it moves as you tighten the thumbscrew, all this while lying prone.
I found that after I had set the leg length, minor variations in terrain are easily taken up with the tilt function. If I were always placing my rifle on a concrete apron or on a shooting bench, no need for the tilt function. However when one goes prone on the ground, one finds that the ground is never flat, level or smooth. Thus the tilt function on the bipod.
One of the reasons I have that EBR is that it will work effectively away from a target range where all things are not nice and smooth and regulated.

I ordered SLM 9-13" it was the same price for swivel as for not so no brainer.
