questions on my scope and mount
On my m1A I have Sadlak M14/M1A scope mount and a sidewinder 30 tactical scope. I laser sighted with a bore red laser and at 100yds the scope lined up with the center of the reticule. I went to the range yesterday and fired 10 rounds at 100yds using 18" 100yd sight in target. both 10 round magazines were within the diamond center area no more than 1" from the center. I loosened both caps and adjusted elevation/windage to 0 and fired 5 more rounds. They were all about the same.
(forgot: all my rounds are hand loads with varget and 168gn BTHP Horandy) Now the somewhat complicated question. I have no clue on how to read and adjust to using Mildot reticule. I know you can adjust without having to use the elevation/windage knobs. I'm just not sure where to start looking. |

questions on my scope and mount
What exactly are you wanting to learn about it? How to use it for holdover? Range estimation?

You don't need to go out and buy computer speakers.
Use whatever earphones you have laying around. There's a jack for them on your computer. Mildots can be used in a straight forward manner. Think of them as fudge factors, if the center of your reticle is off from the point of impact of the bullet. Center one of the dots on the target, instead. Of course, it's up to you to figure out which one. The distance to the target determines the values of the mildots. Here's an indepth explanation of mildots and minutes of angle and how they are used with scopes: http://www.snipercountry.com/Articles/MilDot_MOA.asp
