Linear Muzzle brakes

Hey everyone. I am looking to hear from people who have used linear a compensator.

1) Do they have any effect on dampening recoil as some companies claim?
2) Do they reduce muzzle jump/climb as some companies claim?

I know a linear comps main purpose is to direct the sound away from the shooter but I am also curious if they have any positive effects on muzzle climb and recoil.

Based on my Vavang linear comp on a 18" bull barrel AR in 5.56.

Not really noticeable.

Yes, minor reduction. There are comps that do a much better job but you pay a noise penalty.

The Lavang is pretty good at reducing noise to the shooter.

No. In fact I think the recoil impulse is increased

2) Do they reduce muzzle jump/climb as some companies claim?

Maybe a little but not really.

They do a very good job at directing sound away though.
