Yeah, those Ruger MK's are a joy to shoot. Little to no recoil, deadly accurate, and very inexpensive ammunition cost. Pretty sweet if you ask me!

I've liked shooting the 22/45. I passed on a stainless MK II the other day - $850.
It did have an older custom Volquartsen barrel, custom trigger and custom target grips on it, though.

Isn't it a great gun? I was gifted a MK II target model from my grandfather about a year ago. I can shoot 3-4 inch groups, rapid fire, from 25 yards and this gun holds to a paper plate at 50 yards easy. LOVE it! |

I have four Ruger MK II's, so I guess I like them. The are very over built for a .22 pistol.

I pooh-poohed the caliber for a long time, until I picked up an MKIII a couple of years ago. Like the OP, I have a blast shooting it. It is probably the most fun I have had with any of my guns. "Where have you been all my life?" and "Why did I wait so long?" were among the questions I asked myself.

22 = most fun and most aggravating handgun to shoot.
one day its amazing one day its horrible. find a good ammo and do not clean the barrel just the action. 22's are lubricated bullets for the lead ones and they condition the barrel. after cleaning the barrel a few fouling shots will recoat the barrel and the shots will tighten up again. |

Can't beat the bang for the $'s. I love the MK II's and have found them more reliable than other makes.
