PSA lower receiver questions. New features ??

So, I bought a new lower receiver from PSA recently, took delivery of it today and was looking it over and saw two features on it that I don't remember seeing before. Maybe I've missed them in the past but...
1st: There's a threaded hold at the bottom of the receiver for one of those nylon tipped screws, to keep tension on the upper receiver so it doesn't wobble.
2nd: The hole under the end plate, for the rear take-down pin spring and detent....is threaded...for an allen screw !! All the ones I've seen (besides my ballistic advantage receiver) are just a hole and the end plate holds the spring in place.

Is this normal for $39 PSA lower receivers?

The tension screw is of questionable worth but an interesting piece of marketing.
The threaded detent hole is a plus for the "stock twiddlers" who like to change stuff (like buffer tubes) frequently. I don't follow that pattern so again, a marketing feature that's wasted on me.
