Enfield .410 Ammo in Modern Guns

I have been toying with the idea of using the brass cased Enfield 410 round ball ammo in my Stevens bolt action Model 58B. Would it be safe, has anyone used these shells?

Thanks,

Dave W.

I recall reading some years back the British 410 round is not interchangeable with the US round, it really wasn't a 410 at all, just named that by Milsurp dealers for our market. That was for the India police rifles back then.

I've tried to put the 303 round in a standard 410 shotgun . The gun won't close because the rim is quite a bit thicker than the US .410. The Enfield .410 shotgun rd is the same as the .303 before being formed for the .303 British cartridge if I recall correctly.
