My Friends

Sirs;
I hope the staff will allow my post.
I consider you all my friends and I want your prayers and support in a matter.
I've been looking at things on m my computer no one should - especially a Christian man. I want your prayers to help me be a man and quit this awful thing - it bothers me that I'm not strong enough myself to overcome this habit - I ask Gods help and your prayers as well to help me be a man and quit this awful practice!
I hope you'll not think less of me for this admission - thank you brothers!
Harry B.

Be strong and faithful Harry, we're with you. We all have our vices. Mine was alcohol.

Just hang out in here more and share some of your knowledge about firearms with guys like me.

Little porn would cause me to become judgmental, but a little porn would not.

Best of luck leading the life you feel is fitting. Perhaps a break from the computer would be best. If that's what you choose, I hope you come back and you will be missed.

Taking ownership is a step.
Reconcilliation and forgiveness of self is a step.
You have done me no wrong,so no worry there.

I think some about which dog I feed. What do I want to support ?
There is something about being a parent/grandparent that makes me ask myself questions like that of myself.
I also think ,in cyber world as in real life, where am I likely to find a virus?

It might also be reasonable to consider "When am I revealing too much information?"
Some things,I just don't need to know. Its about taking care of yourself.
I don't need to know what a married couple does, either.
I do have the impression you are a gentleman,HB.
Remember Jimmy Carter's confession?

Harry if you truly want to stop, you may want to listen to link - it's a mp3 file from a radio show that my
pastor does on Saturday mornings.
Hope this helps.

If you don't want to click on the link directly go to:
www.ourworldhisview.com and do a search for the April 26 2008 show
on Christian Sexual Integrity and Pornography.

Harry,

Being a Christian man doesn't make you, me, or anyone else a sinless man. There has only been one sinless man to walk this earth and He died for our sins that we may have everlasting life.

Satan will use every trick in the book to get you to turn away from God. I believe temptation is probably the number one tool in his arsenal.

Read or reread the book of James. It really is a guide on how we should live our lives. It helps me.

Ask God to help you overcome this and and He will.

Prayers sent.........................

Sirs;
Thanks! Even though my viewing was only "playboy" like material I still feel its wrong. Christians I don't believe should be doing even that.
Again, thanks - I can beat this!

I know the temptation to look at pro-Obama web sites is very great, but with a strong resolve and the help of friends, you can renounce the sin and emerge better for the experience.

The fact that what you are doing bothers you means you probably should stop. You may need guidance from a spiritual adviser. Remember no human being is perfect, and we all stray from time to time.

I will refrain from making off color remarks about your alias and your current dilemma, but you should know that there is often relief to be found from one's troubles in humor, or even just a nice long walk in the park where you have some time to think. Take your dog with you. He will enjoy the walk too.

Exactly. There is no such thing as a "minor" problem if it truly bothers you. There are many minor problems that become major because they become the focus of our concern and thus our lives.

You wouldn't have seen Fireproofed recently, would you?

Jim;
I've never had the uncontrollable urge to look at "pro-Obama" sites
That's the last thing I'd ever want to look at. THAT I CERTAINLY can CONTROL.
That adds humor to this thing!

I have had to give up some "bad" habits myself. Luckily I survived them. Others I knew did not

One day at a time Harry.
We are all only human and as such are not infallable.
Dont worry if someone is judgemental, unless they can walk on water it means nothing.
First and foremost you must have faith in yourself. If you dont have faith in yourself how can you afford to put your faith in something else.
You and only you control your destiny.

You can do it!

Reminds me of when I found a coochie magazine in my then 12 year olds room. I took a glue stick and glued all of the "good" pages together.
****** him off something fierce!

I can send you some "super glue" and you can glue all the "good" keys together.

providing choices: You can do it!

Sell your computer.

Use the computer(s) at your local public library.

Or quit affecting activity.

Honestly i love porn. but i you feel it is wrong turn off your computer for three days and read a book and try to forget the websites. block them, under tools you can block websites. download a parental blocker.

If you have a wife or girl friend turn all your sexual energy on her, i doubt she'd mind. if not concentrate on getting one.

"I'n not a Christian man, nor are many others here....perhaps PMing this stuff would be best..."

Well, Harry, I am a Christian man and I believe I'm with WildAlaska here.

Seriously, HB, if you think you have a real problem with controlling your behavior, you'd do better (no offense to all the good people here of all faiths) to seek help from a professional shrink (I don't think Jesus would hold it against you) or at least a good Marine or Army First Shirt.

Best.

Will

While I can sympathize, the thread is off topic.

Take it to PM... Better yet, find a good Christian board.
