Henry X - 45 Colt

Took my new Henry to the range today. Put some 300gr. Ruger loads through it and it was spectacular. 2" at 50 yards! At 1300fps, they will put the STANK on hogs! Even with the HiViz sites, I had focus trouble, so put a Bushnell 1.75-4 shotgun scope on it. Back to the range tomorrow.

I have the X in 45-70 … one of my favorite plinkers with some mild trap door loads.

Enjoy your new toy.

It would seem that Henry is now the leader and probably the first consideration for a lever action rifle with their recent side gate loading feature and the X models being offered in various calibers. Henrys reputation for quality/craftsmanship is well known and their customer service is first rate as well. The best part of their customer service is that it actually exist and works and is very fast. I see their advertisement on Newsmax television every day.

UPDATE - Lawsamoiceee!! The addition of the little shotgun scope was DOPE! One hole at 50! I haven't talked about the trigger. I've owned Win94s and Marlin 94 and 95 and they've all had hard triggers. This puppy breaks at 4#, like glass. Very impressed.

This is all good news. I'll almost certainly add a steel, side-gate 44 mag this year.
