CTL312-160-2R
We finally got some nice weather so I could expend a bit of time casting. I just finished putting together a 300 Blackout setup and needed some pills for it. While I normally opt for a nice NOE mold or the like I found some good reviews on this Lee CTL312-160-2R mold.
Now that I have them casted, powder coated and gas checked the weather has turned for the worst today so patience will have to be key here. Last edited by straight-shooter; April 15, 2018 at 09:38 AM. |

I made it to the range and was pleased with the performance of these bullets. While I wasn't expecting Sierra style groups, they proved to hold their own for general plinking. They shot 1 1/2" to 2" groups at 100 yards. Inspection of the barrel showed no signs of leading.
I used a OAL of 2.050 and feeding was flawless through 30 test rounds. The rifle used was a combination of a Bear Creek 16" upper and a Daniel Defense lower. Scope is a Nikon P-300 Blackout, the new Pmag 300 Blackout. |

I've cast that particular Lee bullet for almost 10 years and have been shooting it in my SKS and Mosin rifles tumble lube and gas checked.
Recently I started sizing it down to .311" and shooting it in my 300 Sav. with excellent results. I have a batch powder coated but haven't had a chance to do any range testing to see how they compare in the various rifles. It's a good bullet that has proven to be excellent in many roles. |

Nice work straight shooter. 1.5-2" at 100 is good to go, you could wring more accuracy with some load tweeking but thats a great start.
