My Dad and i went out for a day at Hildendale Hunt Club in central PA. Beatiful crisp spring day, final score 6 Chukar Partridges and 5 Ringneck Pheasants! I took my Benelli Nova 12 gauge, nice gun! It pointed very well and the birds responded by dropping from the sky. Dad had his 16 guage AH Fox side by side. A beautiful gun.
I have not been in the field with a shotgun for 15 years yet still managed to drop the first chukar that went up by me. We only had a couple get away. We had a Springer spaniel named Twister and he was quite the flusher. Sometimes we had to hustle to keep up with him, when he found a hot trail he gave chase.

i shot quite a few digital pictures and will get some online soon

Huntin preserves can provide excellent hunting during times of the year that we (hunters) would not normally be in the field.

There are a set of un spoken rules for a preserve:

Good birds
Good cover
Good guides
Good dogs

Sounds like you got three out of four or 100% of what you wanted.

it was a fantastic day afield.
my dad commented that we could of spent the same money on a golf course and had nothing to eat at the end of the day!

we heard one rule from the guy that drove us to our field
"if it flies it dies!"

anyone have any chukar recipes?
