Hornady TAP ammo

What are advantages of using the Hornady TAP 00 buck ammo in a 12 gauge shotgun? Thanks.

Well, if you believe their downrange figures, their 00 does things that no real world 00 Buck will do. They must have turbo boosters built into each pellet.

A real advantage is that their 8 pellet load at 1,600 FPS has a much lower recoil than most other factory 12 pellet loads at around 1,260 FPS.

If you do any handloading, that 8 pellet loads fits perfectly into a Remington RP12 wad and a healthy dose of Blue Dot easily gives 1,600 FPS.

That's what I have in my 500. I like it cause it does recoil a little less than some others I've used, plus it's all patterned very consistently. I would like to test the speed of it myself though.
