A 7.62x39 ar build so far

-been a while since I've been on forums
Im a tinker with my guns, and try to keep a variety
i have several AR's [and a new lower stripped somewhere in my safe...]
but due to california laws, getting ammo has become that much harder
to the point I couldnt get anymore for my 300 aac Blackout dedicated rifle
i have some in storage mind you but nothing for a lifetime

I decided to go ahead and build a new upper list of products used
-Tactical machining upper engraved tmarks [teflon ceramic coating]
-aim surplus nib 7.62x39 bcg
-delta team tactical [famous no fail 16" barrel melonite hbar
-fortis nib hammer charging handle
-midwest industries low pro gas block and keymod freefloat
-dpms stainless gas tube
-lantac dragon break 30cal
-ammo-wolf hollow points [cause bulk sale was good]

magazines-c-products defense

took this out to zero and test the reliability of it by firing off a few hundred rounds
I experienced 1 bullet fail to fire on 2nd shot
ejected and checked it was dented but did not fire the round. cycled all other rounds fine and continued to cycle rest of the test fires

went with the aim bcg as it being nib was a nice coating option thats slick and easy to clean typically
the c-products magazines were the best from what I researched on this caliber type
the delta barrel was a bit of a leap of faith as i didnt see any negative reviews on it, but it shot and put some nice groups at 100

no mechanical failures after that with the gun itself, I noticed the dragon does make it very stable and reduced the noise pretty well as it was quiter then the 556 using a bravo break

the upper was a bity nose heavy but with the 7.62x39 caliber thats not necessarily a bad thing

my only bad experience was after the 1st few sets the scope must have broke as i started shooting high left , it no longer held zero and i couldn't adjust it with turrents to fix, not to worry is a leopold and ill be sending it in for repair

overall the experience was not bad as it seems to function fine with this setup and thought id share.

hope this is helpful to those maybe thinking about making one themselves

I bought a BCA complete M4 flat top upper in 7.62x39. Using an Anderson lower with a no-name carrying handle with adjustable iron sights. Had one or two failures with steel cased ammo. Bought a bunch of Prvi Partizan ammo fmj and the fat roundnose. It shoots these with no failures using C Products magazines.
