Help with 101.
I have a 101 in 20gauge and according to the blue book and other sources of information, they were made in 1966 and 1967. The serial# is 252xxx but, according to the books, the last of the guns made in 1967 were Serial#210,500 and below. If this is correct, then how could my gun be #252xxx? Can anyone help me here??? Was there a later production run of these shotguns. Thanks, 28-7

I am not sure what you may have, but the 101 was introduced in 1963 and discontinued in 1987. AFAIK, the field grade was available in 20 gauge for that whole time. Most of the several variations were also available in 20 gauge, except the trap guns, which were 12 gauge only.

20 gauge 101's were introduced in 1966. All 20 gauges were chambered for 3 inch shells. 20guage SN range started at 200K. 28/410 were added to production in 1968 and after that all three shared the SN range. Over 300K 101's of all gauges were made before being discontinued in 87.
