Smith and Wesson Victory question
I just bought this Victory at a show yesterday which came with its original holster..which is an RIA. I had one, but it was re-parkerized, so I sold it...Just a couple of questions: The serial # Is V 1777**..next it does have the "S" on the cylinder, but nowhere else. for the improved firing pin stop.it does not have the GHD, US Property, or US Navy on the strap...from what I could find out ( which was not much) this is an early number...wondering when this was made....and if this is an early number, when did they do the improved firing pin block....when I removed the grip, it seems to have the previous owners name: JL Downing, his social security #, and military ID, apparently...this forum will not allow me to upload any more pictures, or I would have posted more....Lastly..not sure if this is parkerized or blued....I am sure one of you experts will have this information.
