Are these safe to convert to 308?

There is, I believe, an unanimity of opinion amongst the responsible (those who might be sued) that the answer is no, they are not safe to convert to this cartridge. It generates considerably more pressure than the cartridges that these actions were designed to handle. That makes the cautious uncomfortable.

Unforgiven, I agree with Herodotus. While I've seen and owned small ring actions in .308 that never had any problems I wouldn't convert/rebarrel one for a customer. George
