Does anyone have experience using a 10mm on whitetails? If so, what type of ammo do you use. I plan on using a pistol as a secondary weapon this season for still hunting to my stand. My shotgun and Super Redhawk are both scoped and not practical for the dense cover. I also have the option of a 357 mag. instead.

Talk to Rob-- HEY Rob! You out there?!? He busted a couple of hogs a year or two ago with a 10mm, if memory serves. (check out his website).
Just about ANY expanding load for 10mm would be great for white-tail. Certainly the 10 has more knockdown than the .357 magnum, anyway. Nice big bullet, nice high velocity... you're shooting what's just a tad under .41 magnum, there, and nobody ever complained about the white-tailed deer stopability (? ) of that round! Good.. no, Great luck on your hunt. Regards, L.P. ------------------ Will you, too, be one who stands in the gap? Matt |

I've got some Tritons on the way that I plan to use in my Colt Delta Gold Cup...

Hey guys, sorry for being late....
I haev shot two deer with a 10mm, I used a Hydra-shok and a Silvertip. My Wife shot a hog with a Hydrashok (I killed my hogs with a knife, like a real man should ). I have not found the Hydra-shook to expand veyr reliably, but it seems to have done the job. this year, I am going to stick with the SilverTip for Whitetail out of my RT Glock 20. ------------------ -Essayons |

Thanks for all the input guys.
I keep hearing about Hydra Shoks not expanding enough but still doing their intended task. Dead is dead! I think I'm leaning more and more towards Silver Tips. Wow! I just registered last week and am hooked on this site. Hey Rob, a knife? You couldn't just strangle those hogs! |
