Thanks FITASC, but I mean the 1301 Comp (vent ribbed) version without those ugly ghost sights
Hinterland is the only Comp on the planet but it is the "Pro" with the blue receiver that kind looks junk to me, especially at $1,500. This version is better than the standard one you posted, while also $500 less! You gotta update your searching to gun.deals I think the 1301 Comp is my ticket! Just vaporware now. Still picking up the 930 today or tomorrow though Last edited by wild cat mccane; October 21, 2020 at 04:48 PM. |

Thanks Sarge.
You are right. The 22" version (vaporware right now on gun.deals) puts me at about the same price I'm going to pay with added parts from Or3gun and Nordic (what is used on the JM Pro version too) while I'll be missing out on a threaded barrel, enhanced/plated parts. Sportsmanwharehouse has the 24" for backorder, which is how I did my 930 (arrived in 3 days), but the 22" is sold out no backorder. 24" in my mind might as well be 28". If the 22" JM Pro were around for 650-700, I would go for it knowing I'm 2-3" longer than I want. Wonder if calling Mossberg will get me the 22" barrel though... Hard to say what a Beretta 1301 Comp goes for, with only one available but in the pro version. Last edited by wild cat mccane; October 21, 2020 at 04:55 PM. |

Last I heard they were not selling the JM Pro barrels, but that may have changed.
Also be advised QC can be a little off on 930s, almost invariably related to improperly deburred/beveled recoil system components. The Field/Security combo was great out of the box; the JM Pro needed a little TLC to get it perfect.

Awesome to hear, good to know! Thank you. Just picked it up. Will post pics up tomorrow and as the project gets going.
Can't wait to start fiddling with this 930. |

Welp....
What a journey. Picked up the 930 field. Unlike my 500s, this 930 doesn't have multiple brass beads running the length of the barrel. Just a single fiber optic at the end. Obviously you can't have an fiber optic and obscuring brass beads...but I can't say I like the fiber optic better as it feels far way compared to my 28" barreled 500 sight where your eye picks up the brass fore beads. Weird. Overall...I admit I put in a bid for the Beretta 1301 Comp with a 21" vent rib barrel and chokes. Just underwhelmed by the 930. Without firing either (most critical part I know), the CZ 712 Utility felt nicer. The 930 shouldered better though as I could tell it was a bit shorter. |
