Removing an SKS barrel ???
I have a russian threaded bbl on my SKS and want to remove the bbl to replace it with another one that I have. Do these bbl's have to be heated at the threads to remove them because the ruskies may have put some sort of a locktite on the threads or will it come off fairly easily with only a wrench and no heat? Is there much chance of the receiver twisting or should it be mounted securly in a strong vice to stop the twisting???

You need to put the barrel in a suitably formed vice and use a receiver wrench on it.
You NEVER clamp the receiver into the vice when attempting to remove it.

Featherman, a reciever wrench is shaped to fit a particular receiver. George

Feather,
A receiver wrench actually looks like a big spanner, and has inserts that fit into it, which fit around the action of the rifle. This allows the receiver to be supported when you're torquing it, meaning that the chances of racking or otherwise distorting the receiver are greatly reduced. Brownell's sells them, but they're not all that cheap, IIRC. OK, Browning sells the Wilcox action wrench for about $65.00. Vice blocks will cost something less.
