TITEGROUP® ???

Looking for imput on Titegroup powder. I have heard it is a very clean burning powder and very accurate. But would like some opinion's from you that have used it. I am loading medium loads for 9MM and 380. cci primers.
lazercast and berrys plated bullets.

Any help is always appreciated

I am using W231 now and am finding it Inconsistent.

My experience with titegroup is with .45 light loads. it is clean and consistent. I load extremely light loads for my lady to shoot plates with, and have started using them myself. I tried using w231 with the same power levels, and got an extreme deviation, with titegroup being consistent.

I use TiteGroup to load my ammo for cowboy shooting in .45 Colt. It is consistent,clean burning,and has a very low standard deviation in velocities. It was specifically designed to be insensitive to its position in the case.

I've been using TG behind 9mm and 45 ACP bullets for 9 months now and love the stuff.

I have spent about two hours on the phone with Mike Daly at Hodgdon finding out what their opinions are and what loads they have shot TiteGroup with and these are Hodgdon's technical support folks.

TiteGroup is faster than W231 and about the same speed as Bullseye. But clean and low flash.

My receipes:

4.5 grains of Titegroup behind a 115 grain round nose 9mm bullet set to 1.13-1.15" OAL. Good accuracy and reliable. 2" groups out to 50 feet.

4.2-4.3 grains of Titegroup behind a 124 grain round nose 9mm bullet. CCV from GlockTalk swears by this load. i just bought a case of 124 Rainier copper-plated bullets so we'll see.

For short barrelled guns with short slides, like a Glock 26 try 4.2 grains of Titegroup behind a 115 grain round nose 9mm bullet is a soft recoiling accurate round. Folks who have shot this load while shooting plates yesterday loved it. Minimal recoil and flash, and accurate. My friends with the Beretta 92 Centurion and Glock 34 (long slide), loved it when they shot it.

For 45 ACP, try 4.5 grains of Titegroup behind a 230 grain round nose 9mm bullet set to 1.26" OAL. Great load with better accuacy than the 9mm through a Glock 30.

For a lighter load, try 4.2 or 4.3 grains of Titegroup. Just one ragged hole out to 60 feet!

If anybody knows some TiteGroup loads for 200 grain round nose bullets, let me know! I just bought half a case of the 200s.

Off to the range in 2 hours!!!!!

At 4.2 grains behind a 230 grain bullet, I do get occassional failures to cycle in a Glock 30.

I've used it for .44 Special...consistent, burns clean, manageable.. 4.0 grains over a 245 gr. cast SWC. VERY accurate!!!!!

Thanks for the receipes, I am going shooting this morning (sat), And on the way back will pickup some Tightgroup and do some reloading. I can try out the new loads tommorrow. And will post my reaction to Tightgroup.

Recommend different (and slightly 'slower') powders for the two calibers mentioned, like AA5, Alliant Power Pistol, Hodgdon Universal Clays.

Recommend TiteGroup for target-velocity loads in most revolver cartridges.

TiteGroup has become my powder of choice for 9mm,.40S&W and .45ACP. This may sound odd but I use the same powder charge for all three calibers. I use 4.5 grs. in 9mm with a 115 FMJ @ 1.120" , .40 with 165 gr. FMJ @ 1.130" and in .45ACP 200 gr.SWC @ 1.260". All of these loads group under 2" @ 25 yds. with the .45 grouping under 1".

Well back from the range. Loaded 9MM, 124 gr
berry's Plated flat point,CCI primers, 4.2 grains, Tightgroup. and Lazercast 122 Gr Flatpoint, CCI Primer, with 4.2 Gr, tightgroup.

Overall I like the powder, I don't think its alot cleaner then bullseye, But was more consistant with less flash. 2 1/2 groups at 50 feet with medium recoil.

But was only able to shoot 30 rounds . Will be able to test differant loads and bullets nexted weekend.
