Does anyone know why the double barreled shot gun have evolved into the under and over design, instead of the side by side? I own several side doubles and like 'em and use 'em a lot. I have shot under/overs and was not overly impressed.
just wondering.... ------------------ Joe Portale Sonoran Sidewinder Tucson, Arizona territory |

I believe John Browning designed the "Superposed" to give a truer sight picture.

The main arguments I've read in favor of the o/u are, as previously said, the sighting plane; the other is the "feel", which some folks prefer.
Coming from more time with a Model 12 than anything else, I guess I favor the o/u. It's purely personal preference, as near as I can tell... FWIW, Art |
