AR-15/Shotgun Mount
I'm trying to locate a source for a device that will mount a shotgun below the barrel of an AR-15/M16. I bought one years ago, but the company that manufactured it, Northstar Arsenal, in Oklahoma City seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. I have had a request from a Master Sergeant in a Ranger battallion that is interested, and I'd like to help him but can't locate a current source.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Denny,
Knight's Manufacturing Company 7750 9th Street S.W. Vero Beach, Florida 32968 561 778-3700 561 569-2955 (fax) Sells the Masterkey mount to the military. It's fairly expensive IIRC. You might also check over at AR15.com. There was a guy there a while back who was putting one into production and it was much more reasonably priced. I don't know if the search function over there is working or not. HTH Jeff |

Thanks Jeff.
I should have thought of Knight's myself but had a brain block. I'll pass the info on.

Denny,
Sage Ordnance also make a mount for the shotgun/ carbine. Use caution though, some units are experiencing damage to the M4A1 lower receiver when using the combo. Don't have any information as to # of rounds etc., but worth noting. |

Pat,
Saw your reply in a shotgun thread I had also replied to. Good to see you here at TFL. A belated welcome. The Northstar Arsenal mount I used years ago attached the rear bracket using the AR's forward push pin. I assume the units we have discussed do also? I can see where the gauge's recoil may play havoc with the aluminum receiver. I'll pass this along to the MSGT who contacted me. Thanks again guys, Denny

Hi Denny,
Thanks! All of them attach via the receiver pin- you are correct. The combo is an excellent idea, but the problems associated may negate it. We looked at it, and decided against it. I have some stuff coming your way. |
