Anyone sell JUST the front night sight?
I was curious about the question asked in the title. I know you can buy just the front sight for fiber optic sights and other styles. However, I only seem to find tritium sights in complete sets.
I like to have a front white dot and solid black rear sight. It seems to allow me a quicker target line-up than the 3dot, dot the i, or straight 8. I'm not worried about having them (only had them on one gun my entire life) but I wouldn't hate to have JUST the front sight on them. The model I am specifically wondering about are the XD-9. Anyway, just wondering about it.

I do agree with the premise that if you can see the front sight on the middle of your man, at typical self defense ranges, you are going to hit him and hit him well.
I have put 'just' front nite sights on 1911's, Glocks and Ruger's SP101 but I haven't needed one for an XD yet. Not knowing what dovetail they use, I can't say what will interchange. It seems I have heard they are the same as Sig, but I have no confirmation. In your shoes Ed, I would call Brownells or Meprolight direct and see what they can do for you.

You may want to call Brownell's also.

I was told when I bought my XD that the sights on them are so tight in the dovetail that sometimes the gunsmith has to HEAT the area to get it out!!
IS there any truth to this? My XD 45 is a house gun and range gun only, and I'd love to put night sights on. But if it's gonna require the "heating" of the gun, then forget it. |

I recently needed just a green tritium front sight for my SW 6904 and could not find anyone selling just the front one. I emailed Brownells and they were able to get me a Trijicon one with no problem. So even if you do not see it in their catalog they can often get you what you need. Good luck. best wishes- oldandslow |

Natchez Shooting Supply....
I've ordered many products out of Natchez Shooting Supply; www.Natchezss.com .
They have Trijicon Metrolight XS Big Dots, AmeriGlo, etc. I like 3-dot mixed night sight systems for duty/protection pistols; orange/green, red/yellow, etc. For small, J frame size DA revolvers, the big XS sight could be very useful on a Ruger LCR .357magnum or S&W 442/649/36 etc. |

I have just front night sights on both my SP101s. Midway sells single front night sights for the S&W 39xx series (and I'm sure others), I am planning on ordering one for my 3953.
