M44 firing Pin?
Hi!
Short question, I have bought a Mosin Nagant M44 carbine, looks very good! First thing I did after cleaning the gun was checking the firing pin with the firing pin gauge. As you know the firing pin must touch the ''75'' slot on the gauge, but it must not touch the ''95'' slot. Well, I screwed the firing pin as far back as I could but the firing pin ALMOST touches the ''95'' slot. Is it still save to shoot? It ALMOST touches the ''95'' on the gauge. I dont want to get hot powder blown into my face from a pierced primer so I didnt fire it yet! Thank you! |

Thanks, now I feel much better. Strange though, I had a m44 which was adjustable from ''not touching 75'' to ''over 95'', now this specimen is well over ''75'' with the pin all the way in.
Well, I'll try it from safe distance with a string on the trigger, saftey first! |
