The Impossible Question to answer for most...

If you've been at this for any amount of time, what is your Favorite pistol? New guys, just take a pass....you'll regret your post about 6 months down the road... I'll stick my foot right in it. 25 years of buying, selling and trading bring me to one. The Sig 239 in 9MM or .357 Sig......It just "is". Zebulon

Without a doubt, the M1911. Second place goes to the Beretta 92FS.

Zebulon, you need to wait 6mos. Or so to realize the 1911 format is probably too much gun for you.

The Impossible Question to answer for most...

I would have to go with the Browning High Power.
It was the most accurate handgun I ever owned!
Sold mine over twenty five years ago and I STILL regret it!!

5 inch 1911. Nothing really comes close. Great balance, ergonomics, power, trigger, history, and to top it off, it's beautiful.

I would say that I had the most fun with 5 inch 1911's, but there is a lot to be said for the pleasure of handling and shooting a beautiful old Smith and Wesson revolver, be it a K frame, or N frame, even an L frame.

And a Colt Peacemaker is mighty hard to resist.

Glocks, I trust with my life, but it's hard to have much feeling for a plastic gun.

I still regret selling my Sig 239 9mm. I had that matched with a Kramer MSP in horsehide, and it was uncommonly good. I got talked into selling it to get into a 1911, and I regretted every minute.

The .45 is now gone, too. I couldn't find a 239 at the time, so I got a Kahr CW45. The jury's still out, but it might give the Sig a run for it's money.

Dan Wesson pistols. Looks with quality to back it up.

Isn't this just a cool thread? I love them because they're pretty mindless, and we get to tell each other how great our guns are. When I look back at my own history, I could have answered the question just like the rest of you except for Sigarms228 because I've never owned a Walther... My very first handgun was a 226 I bought in 1989...a nod to you sir. Have at it boys...they're nearly all great...we just have our current faves....Zebulon

Took me almost 30 years to get it figured out, but:
1911s and pre-ILS Smith and Wesson revolvers...preferably K- and N-frames.
