There's a lot of space in that case. I chose the heavier bullet because it was easier to go subsonic without all the potential issues associated with light charges. I don't load them anymore, and haven't in quite a while now that the can has been sold.

If I had to do it all over again, I would use a different setup. I would probably go with a 300 Whisper in a fat-barreled Thompson Encore 14 inch pistol. Or maybe a 16 inch AR 15. The Whisper takes all the work out of going subsonic. In fact, I may just do that if this stinking economy ever turns around and I can make some money.

I'm with FALPhil, I load for accurate not barn burning speed but all my loads are supersonic and the caveat on minimum loads being dangerous are there for a reason. If I was to do that I would go with a longer heavier bullet and a faster burning powder, a lot of commercial subsonic loads are nice for quiet but in some guns are lousy for accuracy.
