Thread Protector Query
I recently discovered that the thread protector for my EDC Sphinx SDP compact threaded barrel has been lost.
Are thread protectors all created equal? Will any fit on my Sphinx SDP or are they brand specific? Thanks. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

Not knowing what you're talking about, I decided to go to the Kriss webpage to see. Apparently my Sphinx threaded barrel is M13.5 x 1. Can I simply buy another M13.5 x 1 thread protector?

Brownells and Midway carry them. Your numbers indicate metric thread, 13.5mm diameter with thread pitch of 1 thread per millimeter.

"...or are they brand specific?..." They're thread size specific, not brand. So any protector with a M13.5 x 1 will fit. Think in terms of a threaded and knurled tube.

It is LH, yes? If so, they are all over the internet. Just google for it. Here is one at Amazon...https://www.amazon.com/Barrel-Thread.../dp/B01GKB4652
