1911 10mm build q's

Seems like I am jumping into some 1911 projects.

I have a 38 Super that was built on an AMT frame,Colt slide,Clark ramped bbl.

For a variety of reasons,there was some upper lug damage on that bbl so it junk.The slide lugs look pretty good,but I'm thinking of setting that slide on the shelf for now pending I'm thinking about a Caspian 10mm slide.
And a new 10mm bbl.
I know AMT had some dimensional issues,mag catch for one.Does anyone know if they dim stack up to marginalize lug engagement?Or of any other AMT cautions?

Between Clark Para Ramp and Wilson -Nowlin,there are more Wilson -Nowlin bbl options.Am I stuck with Clark ramp,or can I cut some more to get a Wilson-Nowlin cut?.I lean toward lighter weight,but STI and Schueman offer Clark ramped bull bbls,the no bushing trick.Any major reliability advantages over the skinny clark bbl?

Is there any reason building a 10mm is a bad idea with standard 1911 stuff?

Just some good reading in here on that note. There are a couple of places that mention and address frame cracking.
